Government at all levels in the country has been advised to focus more attention on the security architecture and  buy more equipments and gadgets to enhance the activities of the security agencies in the country.
The  District Governor of the international association, district 404 B2 Lions Club International, Nigeria, Professor Oladayo Fagbohun,  gave the advised on Thursday in Ado-Ekiti, during a Press Conference to herald the beginning of the annual convention of the association.
Ayobola who commended the security agencies over what he described as their efforts in tackling the menace of insecurity in some parts of the country, however stressed the need for government to support them by buying more gadgets that would further enhance their performances.
He equally appealed to the security agencies to redouble their efforts by being  rooted and proactive, saying the move  would also  halt the senseless abduction and killing of citizens under any guise.
The Lions Multiple Chairperson also suggested for more decisive and spirited actions to totally rout marauding  kidnappers and killers out of Ekiti State and the country at large.
Speaking on the three days annual convention with the theme: “Serving together to succeed in the land of honour” was aimed at creating an awareness on the activities of the organization and to accommodate more members into the fold of the association.
The programme which he said the 10th edition to be organised by the association would begin with the hospitality night, parades by members to be followed by the the plenary session expected to be grace by the executive governor of Ekiti State, Mr Abayomi Oyebanji and some royal fathers within Ekiti State.
Other activities mentioned by him as part of the programme are Jumat service, training of members on leadership rules, cultural night, women membership developments programme as well as presentation of awards to different doners and supporters of the association.
Similarly, in there different submissions during the programme, the Multiple Council Chairperson in the association, Lion Chief  Samuel Ayobola and the District Convention Co-ordinator, Otunba Ademola Adesoye said the international association currently has about 1.4m members os planning  to extend its membership to 1.5 million before 2027.
The duo went through memory lane when the association  was founded in 1917 in Chicago, United State of America by a 38-year-old  Melvin Jones, the association has also empowered volunteers to serve theri communities and and meet humanitarian needs of the people.
Other humanitarian move embarked upon by the association  are building and donation of female hostel in various institutions of learning in the country, building of diabetes screening and treatment centres as well as donations of free eyeglasses among others.
