As part of it’s efforts to further strengthen it’s tentacles and combat crime more crime across the State, the Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN) Ondo State Command, has handed over power to Commander Feyisayo Akinsooto as the new harmonized Ondo State Commandant.
Similarly, the VGN equally harmonized it’s local governments branches across the State and approved three area commands across the three senatorial districts of Ondo State.
The decision was made on Wednesday during the meeting of the security outfit presided over by the Deputy Commander General in charge of national operations, Ambassador Tajudeen Akewusola.
Other national officers of the organisation who also attended the meeting were, Assistant Commander General of the zonal office VGN, Mr Tolulope Akintola, State Operational Officers, as well as other executive officers of the VGN
Briefing Journalists after the meeting, the Ondo State Public Relations Officers of the VGN, Commander Abiodun Akinruli, said the meeting conveyed by the organization was aimed to handover power to the newly Harmonized Commander of the Ondo State command of the VGN.
Reiterating the readiness of the organization to contribute it’s quotas to tackle the current security challenges in some parts of Ondo State, explained that the VGN have resolved to operate under one umbrella and work together in line with the aims and objectives of it founding fathers.
He explained that the command has concluded plans to liase with other sister security agencies in tackling the present security challenges ravaging some parts of the state in line with the vision and mission of the Governor of Ondo State, Honourable Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
Confirming the readiness of the VGN to work with other sister’s agencies to tackle security across the State, the Ondo State spokesperson of the VGN, said plans are also under way by the organization to visit the Ondo State Commissioner of Police, Army Commander, Amotekun Commander as well as the Director of Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) among others and form a synergy with in line with the laid down security architecture of the state.
He explained that the newly created area commands and the local governments branches are to work in synergy with the state harmonised command and ensure safety of lives and property of residents of the State.
The VGN PRO while soliciting for the supports of the people as well as the Ondo State Government in the areas of provision of mobility and other logistics needed, saying the move will further enhance the organisation to move round the State and function effectively.
The VGN expressed the readiness of it’s members to cooperate with other security agencies in the State, so as to curb crime in all nooks and craining of the state.
It further warms criminals to steer clear of Ondo State, now that the VGN has been harmonised under one umbrella body, warms that it’s members spread across all local governments in the State are determined to chased criminals out of Ondo State.
The meeting held at the office of the organization in Ondo town was attended by several members of the VGN across Ondo State amidst charges and readiness to work and curb crime.
