Ahead of the forthcoming gubernatorial primary election in Ondo State, a pan-Yorba social cultural organization, the Defence for Yoruba People’s Right (DYPR), has pledges it’s support for the Governor of Ondo State, Mr Lucky Aiyedatiwa.

 

The group with over ten thousand members spread across various local governments within Ondo, Ekiti and other southwest states, also paid a glowing tribute to the Governor over what it described as his humanitarian efforts in transforming Ondo State.

 

The group spoke in Akure on Tuesday during a Press Conference addressed by members of the group to drum more supports for the ambition of the governor ahead of the forthcoming gubernatorial election in the State.

 

Speaking on behalf of the group the National President, Otunba Muyideen Olamoyegun, described the actions of the Governor since he took over the mantle of leadership as the governor of the State as the right steps in the right direction.

 

The group while declaring the supports of its members for the governor ahead of the conduct of the gubernatorial primary  and beyond, however disclosed that arrangements has been concluded by members of the group to embark on a street sensitization across Ondo State apparently to spread the good work of the governor to the residents of the State.

 

The group equally called on the members of the political class to continue to support Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa in raising the standard of governance in Ondo State, stating that if voted into power the Governor will perform better.

 

“A lots of transformation projects has taken place since the Governor emerged as the Governor of the State, we want the good work to continue, this is one of the reasons why  we must give him the chance to continue”

 

“On behalf of thousands of our members, I hereby pledged our supports for Mr Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa,  the Executive Governor of Ondo State, most especially some of the actions and policies he has taken so far, he has shown to us that he (the Governor) is capable of piloting the affairs of the Ondo State.

 

On security of lives and properties in Ondo State, the DYPR equally commended the Ondo State Governor and urged others within the southwest region to follow suit and ensure the safety of residents in their states.

 

“As much as the presidency is saddled with the responsibility of upholding the constitution and One Nigeria, All Governors also remain the chief security officer in their respective states and there responsible for the security of lives and properties.

 

“We hereby implore the Federal Government to join efforts with our State governments in Southwest in putting an end to the incessant killings and mayhem caused by the herdsmen in the region”
