A socio-political group in Odigbo local government area of Ondo State, Odigbo Progressive Forum (OPF) has threatened to begin a recall process of its representative at the lower legislative chamber who represent Ile-Oluji/Odigbo Federal Constituency, Honourable Festus Adefiranye.
The group threatened that all arrangements has been concluded to begin the process of recalling the lawmaker over his activities at the National Assembly since he emerged as the representative of the area.
They described the lawmaker as a failure and tribalistic, having achieved nothing since his days at the State House of Assembly, noted that apart from been one-sided, he always opposes the development of his constituency.
The socio-political group in a statement signed by its National President, Comrades Anthony Onipede and the Secretary Stephen Akinbuli, described the lawmaker as a self-centered politician that nothing has been heard of him since he was elected as the representative of the constituency.
The group was reacting to a letter purportedly written to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, by some members of the National Assembly, from Ondo State, reporting Governor Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State over the forthcoming gubernatorial election in the State.
The group who are members of the All Progressive Congress (APC) spread across the local government also alledged the lawmaker of leading his colleagues to criticise the Governor before the President over his ambition to contest the governorship election in the State.
The statement quoted that its unfortunate that the lawmaker could append his signature to criticize the Governor at the moment, when the State is just coming out of its political crisis.
It called on the lawmaker to use his time at the National Assembly to contribute to bills that would put an end to the epileptic power supply that has been ravaging some parts of the constituency for some years.
Describing the lawmaker as a self-serving politician, noted that he has not made any meaningful contributions in the floor of the house to bills that would transform the country since he was elected to represent them at the National Assembly.
According to the statement “Immediately he was inaugurated since last year, Adefiranye has not be visible in the two local governments he represented, the first time to hear from him is to lead five members of his colleagues to the President and report the Governor.
“At this particular time when every groups and individuals are adopting the Governor to contest for the election, most of the projects embarked upon by the Governor were main to transform Ondo State to a better place
“We have concluded plans to begin the process of his recall, he was given palliative by the Federal Government to share for the people of his constituency, he was the only lawmaker that hoarded the palliatives and diverted it to another place”
The group however cautioned the lawmaker to desist from his acts of disrespect to the Governor or face a mass protest against him from the people of the area or a recall from the National Assembly.
Sitting several portions of the constitution and affirmed that the people of the constituency are strongly behind the Governor and ensure his success during and after the forthcoming primary election of the party.
Called on the people of Ondo State not to be distracted about the activities of the lawmaker, but continue to support Governor Aiyedatiwa end ensure his success beyond 2024.
