Coalition of Irele Progressive Youth Movement (CIPYM) has threatened to embarked on an indefinite protest to stop the proposed annual Ijoye-j’esu annual traditional festival in the town.

 

 

The youth who are from various quarters in the ancient town, also threatened to stage a protest apparently to stop the Chiefs in the town from coming out to participate in the annual traditional festival.

 

 

The CIPYM in a statement signed  by its Coordinator, Comrade Michael Akinboyo, demanded for the immediate process by the government to instal the long vacant stool in the town.

 

 

Lamenting  over what it called the delay in the process of the long vacant stool, the youth explained that the inability of the governments both at the local and state to begin the process has proved abortive.

 

 

The youths appealed to the government to immediate begin the process of installing a new monarch for the community, noted that several move by the youth of the community to  bring sanity to the town was proved abortive.

 

 

“We are ready for an indefinite protest to prevent the Chiefs from coming out for the festival, we are ready for a showdown, all roads and streets will be blocked

 

 

“Apart from the rods , all economic activities will be paralysed, since the government has refused to listen to us,  the coalition believes that a king is essential for the kingdom’s leadership and stability” he stated.
