It was a carnival-like ceremony at the weekend in Igburowo town, Odigbo local government area of Ondo State, during the installation of Assistant Commissioner of Police ACP, Samuel Waare and his wife Mrs Eunice  as Mayegun and Yeye Mayegun of Igburowo town.
The honourary chieftancy title of Mayegun and Yeye  Mayegun was confirmed on the duo in a well-attended ceremony held  in the community by Oba Nelson Gbadega Akintolayo the Akamuja of Igburowo town.
Speaking while introducing the police boss and his wife to the mamood crowd who has come to witnessed the epoch-making ceremony, the Chairman, Igburowo Development Committee (IDC) Dr Yemi Olugbamigbe, described ACP Waare and his wife as responsible and gallant police officers who has used their positions to assist the people of the society.
He explained that the honourary chieftancy title was bestowed on him and his wife in respect of their numerous contributions towards the development of their environment.
In his royal message at the occasion, Oba Nelson Gbadega Akintolayo, flanked by his chiefs and other indegenes of the community, congratulated the two awardees and advised them to use their new status to initiate more developments to the community.
The monarch described the new chiefs as notable and responsible members of the Nigeria Police who has made notable contributions to the development of their environment.
The traditional ruler urged them to use their personalities within the society to initiate more projects and development that would make possible changes in the lives of the people of the community.
The highpoint of the ceremony held at the palace of the monarch was the installation, presentation of the certificate to the awardees as well decorations by the traditional tothem and leave.
The ceremony was witnessed by police officers from Ore and Okitipupa Area Command of Nigeria Police, police officers from Ondo State Police Command Akure, Oba Solomon Adejayan, the Oworofun of Lasia town.
Other dignitaries at the event are, indegenes of the community, Women Chiefs, Oloja’s, Otunba’s, youths, groups and associations among others.
