Operatives of the National Drug Law and Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Ekiti State Command has confirmed the arrest of a Septuagenarian over alledged drug dealing.
According to the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the command, Mr. Ifeoluwa Fabiyi, an Assistant Superintendent of Narcotics (ASN), said the suspect whose name was given as Jubril Audu, a 75-year-old man, was arrested in Oke-Asa farm settlement in Ijero local government area of the state.
The PRO also confirmed the seizure of about 7.5 kilograms of substances suspected to be Cannabis Sativa from the Septuagenarian, while on an operation in the area.
Parading the suspect at the national office of the agency on Abuja, the NDLEA said the suspect who is currently detained at the office of the agency is still helping the operatives to unravel the circumstances behind the matter.
The agency revealed that the suspected Septuagenarian will be arranged as soon as investigations is completed on the matter.
