Ekiti traditional chieftancy title holders pray for residents, seeks more assistance from government

Association of Traditional Chieftaincy Title Holders in Ekiti State on Thursday embarked on offered fervent prayers for Nigeria, Ekiti Governor Biodun Oyebanji, all sons and daughters of the State to achieve greatness and success in the year 2024.

The prayer held in Ado-Ekiti was aimed towards handing over year 2024 to God’s hands who gave them the grace and opportunity to witness the new year in good and sound health.

Speaking during the prayer session, attended the traditional title holders in Ekiti State, he Chairman of the association, High Chief Olu Ogunsakin who is also the Asolo of Ikole Ekiti, commended Governor Biodun Oyebanji over what he described as his contributions towards the development of the State in the areas of road construction, infrastructural development, education and welfare of the citizenry.

High Chief Ogunsakin appealed to the Governor to continue to see to the welfare of Traditional Chiefs in Ekiti State by providing vehicle for them and other necessary facilities that will promote the image of the association.

The Chairman equally advised members of the association to be guided in their dealings and work harder to achieve the set-goals of the traditional chieftancy holders in the State.

High Chief Ogunsakin used the forum to appealed to younger generations to desist from any activities that could not add value to their lives and the society as a whole.

Also, the Public Relations Officer of the Association, High Chief Ayodeji Esan, who also doubles as Odofiyin of Iyin-Ekiti noted that the association would not relent in his efforts to promote unity and peace across towns, villages and communities across Ekiti State.

In his sermon during the prayer session, Rev Dr. M.O Ojo of the Shekinah Gospel Ministry, Okela , Ado Ekiti commended the efforts of traditional Chiefs in Ekiti State for promoting what he called peace and unity in their various communities, urging them to continue serving the Lord who gave them grace and privilege to be alive.

The Cleric admonished the Chiefs to always put God first in all their endeavors, believing that the Lord shall grant all the Association’s requests in this new year.

The prayer was well attended by Chiefs across the State
