The Coalition of Irele Progressive Youth Forum (CIPYF) has threatened to come back to the streets in continuation of their protest against the inability of the Ondo State Government to intervene in the long term vacant stool of Olofun of Ode-Irele, Irele local government area of Ondo State.
  • The CIPYF made up of youths from various quarters in the community, explained that their members
    will continue to make use of wise counsel and advice of elders to ensure peace and development of the ancient town.
  • Lamenting over the long vacant stool on the town, noted that the role of elders in ensuring peace building and peaceful coexistence among residents of the community cannot be overemphasized hence their relevance in ensuring stability.
  • Speaking at the weekend in a communique issued at the end of it’s monthly meeting held in Ode-Irele, headquarters of Irele local government area of Ondo State.
  • The communique signed by the youths Coordinator and his Assistant  Comrades Ayodeji Akinboyo and Olamilekan Akinseloyin respectively and the spokeperson Rotimi Falona, described members of youths in the community as law abiding citizens and will not do anything that will truncate the peace of the town, despite the long vacant stool.
  • Describing the people of Ode-Irele as a peace-loving one, however reminded the government of the need to assist the community and install a substantive king in the town, noted that the development will further guarantee relative peace in the town.
  • The youths particularly appealed to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, to use his good office and intervene in the delay in the installation of new monarch in the town.
  • The youths who commended Governor Aiyedatiwa on his efforts in promoting the traditional institution in the state since inception, said the Governor has not sideline the the community and elders  on issues of governance and development of the state.
  • Reiterating it’s resolved to partners with the government in moving Ode-Irele to a greater hight and monitor the activities of some elements who may want to trauncate the peace and harmony of the town under the guice of Obaship tussle.
  • As part of the recommendations of the youths as stated in the communique, the Irele youths  rejoined the state governments to work out modalities that would facilitate quick installation of new monarch in the town.
  • They equally called on the government to make land tenure system to be in accordance with
    the long standing cultural practices of the indigenous communities
    with a call to flush out suspected criminals from their hideout.
