No fewer than three persons who were badly injured on Sunday night during a shooting in a popular night club located along Ondo/ Akure highway in Ondo town, headquarters of Ondo west local government area of Ondo State.
The police also confirmed the arrest of one persons in connection with the shooting, while two persons who are currently at large has been declared wanted by the police in connection with the matter.
According to a source closed to the police police in Yaba divisional police station, Ondo town, said the event which later resulted into pandemonium occurred few minutes after the final football match between Chelsea football club and the Paris Saint German club.
The police source said immediately after the match, while the final whistle was blown by the officiating refree, the suspected who is currently in detention suddenly brought out a pump action gun and started shooting sporadically.
During the process stray bullet from the suspect allegedly heated three persons including a male staff of the night club.
The three persons were said to have rushed to the Ondo Trauma Center where they are currently receiving treatment.
According to the eyewitness who briefed our reporter, said the suspect who is a Manchester United fans was said to have not happy with how the match was ended in favour of Chelsea football club.
He was said to have brought out the gun and started shooting sporadically, during which the victims sustained serious injuries.
Confirming the report, the Police Public Relations Officer, Ondo State command, Mr Ayanlade Olusola confirmed the receipt of the matter, explained that the principal suspect has been arrested and detained at the Yaba divisional police station Ondo town.
He disclosed that the police has begun investigation on the matter, while efforts is being intensify to arrest other suspects who are currently at large.
