Youths in Ondo West local government area of Ondo State have threatened to stage a protest  to demonstrate their displeasure over what they called political imbalance in the local government.
The youth under the aiges of Ekimogun Elite Forum, lamented that seven out of the twelve Councillorship positions in the local government were allocated to the non indegenes in the area.
The Ondo State Independent Electoral Commission (ODIEC) had on Friday pasted the names of candidates for Councillors and Chairmen from various political parties contesting for the January 18 local government elections in the state.
The names which was pasted on the notice board of the commission along Oba road, Akure North local government area of the state.
The Ekimogun youths in a statement signed by its National President and Secretary, Comrades Akinlemibola Akinduro and Abayomi Fawehinmi respectively and made available to Journalists in Ondo town, described the move as injustice melted on them by leaders of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the area.
The youths vowed to resist the move by the leadership of the party in the area to shortchanged the youths and the entire indegenes of the community.
The Ekimogun youths who expressed disdain over the matter, equally promised to commence eight days protest starting from Tuesday December 31st, 2024, in the community apparently to demonstrate their dislike over the matter.
According to the statement “the most pathetic aspect of the matter is that some leaders who were allocated slots equally give it to the non indegenes at the detriments of the indegenes.
“We will fight and reject the injustice melted on us, we all work and fight for the success of this party during the last governorship election” the statement stated.
