Tragedy struck on Tuesday in Igburowo town, Odigbo local government area of Ondo State following the death of a 58-year-old man who was said to have committed suicide by poisoned himself with chemical substance suspected to be Snipper.
The discovery of the lifeless body of the middle-aged man whose name was given as Omolayo Bamidele, always goes by the appellation of “Baba Regy” thrown the agrarian community into serious mourning as residents trooped to the scene to cash the glimpse of the lifeless body of the deceased lying down flat on the main road that links the community to a farm settlement.
Though, the cause of the death of the man who is also an indegene of the town is yet to be ascertain and sketchy as at the time of filling this report.
It was reliably gathered from the residents of the town that the news of the death of the man was brought to the notice of the community at about 10:30 am on the fateful day by an Octogenarian who noticed the lifeless body of the deceased lied down flat on the dusty road.
The Octogenarians was said to have immediately raised an alarm during which other residents of the community was said to have rushed to the scene apparently to cash the glimpse of the lifeless body of the deceased.
It was gathered that the deceased, a father of four, shortly before terminating his life, he was said to have had a minor argument with member of his family and threatened to terminate his own life by drinking substances suspected to be snipers.
As the time of filling this report, the immediate cause of the incident has remain shrouded in mystery, but a source from the community said the incident has continued to generate controversy among residents of the area who said the deceased might have left house early in the morning and treckked for some kilometres to the outskirts of the community before committing suicide.
According to a source closed to Ore Area Command of Nigeria Police said no suicide note was found in him, sImilarly a substances believed to be snipers believed to have poisoned himself with was found behind his lifeless body.
The complain of the incident was later laid in Ore Area Command of Nigeria Police Station who later came to came to the community to evacuate the body and deposited it at the morgue of the Ondo State Specialist Hospital, Ore in Odigbo local government.
The police source explained that though investigation has begun on the cause of the incident as some members of the family of the deceased has been invited for questioning.
When our reporter visited the community, large numbers of the residents were seen gathered in group discussing the development in harsh tone, while the lifeless body of the deceased with half nakked was seen on the ground.
Also a pair of sandals said to belong to the victim was noticed on the floor behind him. The deceased handset was busy ringing in his pocket as spectators was noticed discussing and assisting the police on how to evacuate the body.
Similarly, policemen from the Ore Area Command of Nigeria Police led by a senior police officer in the command in company of some youths in the community were also noticed making arrangement on how to remove the body of the deceased.
