Ahead of the November 16 governorship election in Ondo state, a political socio-cultural group, the Ondo Vangard for Good Governance (OVGG) has promises to work and ensure the success of the candidate of the Action Democratic Party (ADP) Hon Ayodeji Akinnodi, during the conduct of the exercise.
The group also promised to embark on what it called aggressive grassroots mobilization and campaign as well secure not less than 500,000 votes for the ADP candidate during the election.
The Ondo Vangard for Good Governance vowed to work and ensure the victory of the ADP candidate during the conduct of the exercise.
The group in a release in Akure the Ondo State capital by it’s national coordinator, Elder Oluwole Ayomide, said it’s members who were spread across all the 18-local government areas of Ondo State, vowed to restle power from the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) and ensure that the ADP take over the Alagbaka Government House from the current occupant.
The group explained that said it has concluded plans to inaugurate a special campaign committee that would embark on aggressive campaign apparently to ensure the victory of the ADP candidate during the conduct of the exercise.
Expressing confidence over the chance of the ADP during the exercise, disclosed that as part of the strategy of it’s plans, explained that a committee that mobilization committee that will embark on house to house campaign in all the local governments will soon be inaugurated by the party.
Lamenting over what it called bad governance by the ruling APC in Ondo and the country at large, the group however vowed to ensure that the ruling APC fail during the conduct of the election.
The group urged all the ADP members across Ondo State to remain steadfast and continue to canvases on the need to vote out APC during the election.
Urged all the ADP faithful to go back to their various units and begin to canvass grassroots support in the 18 council areas to meet the target of the 500, 000 votes, saying this will ensure the victory of the ADP in the election.
SImilarly, the coordinator in charge of sensitization and awareness campaign in the group, Mr Edward Eyinlanwo, said members must re- double their efforts and ensure the victory of the ADP by embarking on aggressive grassroots mobilization
According to him, “we must unseat the ruling APC who wants to turn our State to something else, they have nothing to offer, we must vote them out” he stated.
