A Pan-Yoruba socio-cultural group, the Defense for Yoruba People’s Right (DYPR) on Sunday described the All Progressive Congress (APC) government under the leadership of President Bola Tinubu, as a government that symbolises abject poverty and untold hardship.
The Yoruba group in a statement on Sunday in Akure, the Ondo State capital said the Tinubu-led government has not only succeeded in bringing the country to a despicable condition and making life to be more miserable and unbearable for the people of the country, but has brought untold hardship to the citizenry.
The group in a statement signed by its National President, Otunba Muyideen Olamoyegun, lamented over what he called untold hardship and abject poverty the people of the country is currently passing through was as a result of bad policy of the APC government.
The group urged people of the country to be wise and open their eyes very well in any future elections and vote out bad government by voting for the candidates that will better their living standards.
The group explained further that the Tinubu-led government since it came into power has performed below expectation, noted that apart from performing very poor in all standards, all its policies and implementations has be a major source of hunger and poverty.
According to him, “All the renewed hope agenda promised by President Tinubu while soliciting for our votes, no single one has been fulfilled, only to come and tell us few hours he assumed office that subsidy is gone.
“If a particular political party wins an election, it has a duty to bring about positive changes in the standard
of living of the people of such a particular country, but in the last few months of the APC government in the country, the people had suffered untold hardships and hunger, sending good numbers of the people of the country to abjects poverty like never before.
“We are in this country when other political parties ruled, we never had it so bad like this, the hunger and hardship ocassioned by obnoxious policies of the present administration is becoming unbearable.
“Apart from the hike in the price of petrol, quite a good numbers of the policies made by President Bola Tinubu were aimed at bringing more hardship to the people of the country” he lamented.
He said his members who are up to 15,000 spread across all local governments in Ondo State and other Yoruba-speaking states within the southwest geo-political zone have concluded plans to vote against any bad government in the nearest future.
The group equally threatened to support any opposition political parties who has good plans and transformation agenda that will better the lots of the people of the country.
