Respite at the weekend came to the family of the late driver of the Apostolic Faith  Group of School, Emure-Ekiti,  following the discovery of the decomposed body of the late driver of the school bus
The late driver whose name was given as Taiwo Adebayo, was kidnapped with the pupils and teachers of the school along Emure/Eporo-Ekiti road on 9th of January, 2024 while conveying pupils from the school to Eporo-Ekiti, a neighbouring community on the fateful day.
The pupils and teachers were later released after spending days in the captivity of the kidnappers, but the driver was said to have killed by the dreaded gunmen in the forest.
According to a source closed to the family said the decomposed body of the late driver was discovered in the forest at the early hour of Sunday by a local hunter while on a hunting expedition in the area.
Immediately the news of the discovery of the lifeless body  of the late school driver was broken in the community, the family made passionate appealed to the Ekiti State Police Command to help them retrieve the corpse reportedly found in the forest so that  they can perform  the burial rites in line with the culture and traditions of the town.
Similarly, one of the family members who who spoke with our Correspondent on condition of anonymity said they received a call from the Chairman, Emure Local Government at the early hour of Sunday informing them that the body of the deceased was found in the forest by a local hunter who is also an Ebira extraction  farming and  staying in the forest area where other victims was released.
Recalled that the principal of the school had confirmed that ransom was paid to secure the release of the abducted school children and teachers while the driver was shot dead in the forest.
Though, the Ekiti State Police Command has not confirmed the development as all calls and text messages put across to the telephone of the Public Relations Officer (PPRO)  of the command, Mr Sunday  Abutu, as at the time of filling this report was not responding.
Meanwhile, a senior police officer at Emure-Ekiti divisional police station who may not want his name mentioned confirmed the discovery of the decomposed body of the late school driver and explained that arrangements is underway between the police in the area and the family to evacuate the body of the late driver from the forest.
All efforts to reach the Commander of the Amotekun Corps in the State was not proved abortive as he was said to have gone out of Ado-Ekiti, the State capital for surveillance operations.
