The auditorium of Saint James Anglican Church, Okeigbo was full to capacity recently as a renowned Prince of Okeigbo town, Honourable Alexander Adelowo Omojadegbe, celebrates his golden jubilee anniversary.
The well-attended ceremony which begun with a church service was graced by eminent personalities within and outside the ancient community, including politicians from various political parties, youths, community leaders, political associates as well as friends and royal family of the celebrant among others.
Honourable Omojadegbe, a one-term Councillor, ward one Okeigbo, in Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo local government area of Ondo State, under the then most populous party in Ondo State, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The elaborate celebration which begun with a Holy Mass service and thanksgiving held at Saint James Catholic Church located in the heart of the ancient community.
In a sermon delivered on the occasion by the Parish Priest in charge of the church, Reverend Father John Fawohunre, congratulated the Prince for celebrating his Golden Jubilee, he described him as a God-fearing somebody who always has the fear of the Almighty God in his heart.
While rejoicing with the celebrant, his family and children, s he stressed the needs for him to continue in giving his life to the Lord Jesus Christ whom he described as the saviour of all mortals.
The religious leader equally urged other youths in the ancient community to emulate the celebrant whom he said has contributed immensely to the development of his community, local government and the State of originin general.
The Catholic Priest equally revealed that many people are under the bondage of spiritual leprosy but only the Mercy of God sustains everyone, he quoted several Bible passages to support his point, called on the congregate to always believe in God as the creator of all souls.
The Man of God later used the occasion to felicitate with the celebrant whom he described as a son of God who he said has remembered his creator by commencing the celebration of his 50th birthday with thanksgiving in the house of God.
The well-attended church service which featured songs rendition by the members of the chorister of the church, bible reading, prayers as well as thanksgiving, later followed by a colourful reception in the community, where the celebrant, his wife and children entertained the guests with royal hood and assorted foods and drinks, as the celebrant and his royal family danced as a life band musician entertained the guests
