A Non-Govermental Organisation, Babatunde Western Charity Foundation (BWCF) has called on the government at all levels, public spirited individuals as well as corporate organisations in Nigeria, to give adequate attention towards the development of adult and literacy education in Nigeria.

The foundation also stressed the needs for government to give adequate attention to the plight of vulnerable children in the society, saying the move would help in giving them sense of belonging.
The founder of the foundation, Mrs Fola Western, spoke recently in Ondo town while reeling out various achievements recorded by the foundation in the last few years and distributions of cheques to some beneficiaries students of both primary and secondary schools in Ondo town.
The programme held at Geden Group of School, Ondo town was attended by students and pupils of various secondary as well tertiary institutions.
She equally called on the well-meaning individuals in the country, to join hands together with the foundation in order to promote the welfare of the less privileged and the poor in the society, so as to make them self-reliant.
Speaking on the programme, which she said was organised for the poor, the vulnerable childrens, physically challenged people in the area, Western noted that it was aimed towards alleviating the plights of the less priveledges in the society.
While expressing gratitude to God and members of the Board of Trustees of the foundation for their various contributions towards the achievements recorded since the organisation was established in 2020.
Going through memory lane, she explained that his philanthropic gesture began few years ago, with the award of scholarship to indigent but brilliant students from primary, secondary to tertiary levels for which several beneficiaries have benefitted from the programme.
She further stated that as part of effort towards increasing the horizon of the foundation, attention was shifted towards the needs of people living with various kinds of disabilities such as the deaf, dumb, cripple, visually impaired as well as orphans and widows.
He also listed those living with Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome ( AIDS) and those suffering from Diabetes and other forms of terminal diseases as among the list of those receiving assistance from the foundation.
In addition to several other less privileged persons particularly those without any means of livelihood who she said also receive amount ranging from N3,000 to N8,000 as monthly stipends from the foundation as part of effort towards meeting their financial needs.
One of the beneficiaries Josiah Akinmoye, who spoke on behalf of others, lauded the founder of the foundation for conceiving the idea of establishing the foundation which he said has made positive impact in the lives of the poor in the society.
While calling on the founder not to relent on his effort, he however appealed to public spirited individuals, corporate organisations and religious body to assist the foundation in its effort towards addressing the plight of the less privileged in the society, stating that such assistance would enable the foundation to expand its activities and achieve its goals and objectives.
The highpoint of the programme held Geden Group of School Ondo, Ondo town, featured activities like distributions of school uniform to various pupil’s, songs ministration, prayer, testimonies, presentation of gifts, cash and award of scholarship to some beneficiaries consisting of the sick, homeless, abandoned, widows and the orphans.
