No fewer than 800 students from various primary and secondary schools from Ondo East and West local governments on Monday benefited from the books empowerment programme organised by the member of House of Representative, representing Ondo East/West Federal Constituency, Honourable Abiola Makinde.
The programme  which is part of the educational project under the WEALTH Agenda programme of the lawmaker is part of his plans to  contribute to the development of education in the constituency.
The  beneficiaries who were selected from the various primary and secondary schools in the two local governments were distributed items which includes tables, chairs mathematical sets, drawing board, printers, scanner, photocopy machines, calculators, projector, television, laptop computers, microphone, exercise books and other  instructional materials among others.
Speaking while distributing the materials amidst funfare, the lawmaker explained that the programme is part of the activities of his WEALTH Agenda to contribute to the development of education in his constituency.
The lawmaker who lamented over what he called decay of education among the young teenagers in the area, assured that he would continue to try his best in making education as number one priority among the young people in the area.
Describing education as a vital tools in the development of a society, the Ranking Lawmaker admonished the students to face their studies, have more endurance and perseverance, saying the move will further guarantee their future ambition.
He advised the students to make judicial use of the items distributed, promising that he will continue to make the programme a continuous exercise.
The lawmaker later paid a glowing tribute to the committee put in place to organised the programme for making it a successful exercise, later appreciate the efforts of several members of the All Progressive Congress APC and parents that present at the ocassion.
The event held amidst funfare at the expansive Hall of the National Institute for Education Planning and Administration NIEPA Ondo town.
Present at the ocassion were immediate past Commissioner for Information in Ondo State, Mr Wale Akinlosotu, education Secretaries from Ondo East and West, teachers from various primary and secondary schools within the two local governments among others.
