Adeyeye, Osemawe visit Ondo flood areas, commeserates with residents

The Special Adviser to Governor Aiyedatiwa on Legislative Matters and Special Duties, Dr Jibayo Adeyeye and the Osemawe and Paramount riler of Ondo kingdom, Oba Dr Victor Kiladejo in companied with other government officials at the weekend, visited the flood affected areas to sympathised with the victims.
Others on the entourage are Commissioner for Environment, Hon Niyi Oseni, Special Adviser to the Governor on Works, and Infrastructure, Hon Joseph Babalola among others.
Speaking at one of the scene, Dr Adeyeye who commeserated with the victims, said the news of the flood disaster got to the government from several videos posted on the social media by the residents.
The Special Adviser explained that the move have prompted the unscheduled visit apparently to access the level of damages and to intimate the State Executive on how to prevent future occurrence and to assist the victims.
According to him ” Top government officials came to visits some of the scenes of the flood to deliver the message to Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyadatiwa.
“The good news is that the Ondo State Government will continue to work on the water ways tomorrow 6th of October. Our proactive Governor commenced work on channelisation in Ondo city two weeks ago.
“We enjoined all sons and daughters of Ondo to please cooperate with the workers that will be coming to do the work, so as to get a desired result. Ondo residents are also enjoined to stop indiscriminate dumping of refuse and blockage of water channels with household wastes and avoid building on the waterways.
“It is time for all hands to be on deck to unanimously stop this incessant flooding in our dear kingdom.
“Today, I am happy that the steps we took are yielding results. I am encouraged” Dr Adeyeye stated.
