A Pan-Yoruba socio-cultural organisation, the Defence for Yoruba People’s Right (DYPR) has condemned the Right Activist and Publisher of Sahara Reporter, Mr Omoyele Sowore, for leading a protest demanding for the release of the leader of the Indegeneous  People of Biafra (IPOB), Mr Nnamdi Kanu.
The Yoruba group in a statement signed by its National President, Otunba Muyideen Olamoyegun, described the attitude of Sowore as not only misleading, but capable of causing disaffection in the country.
Describing the protest as a waste of  time, sponsored one by some group of people in the country, however reminded the activist that the  IPOB leader apart from jumping bail in the court, also has several court cases hanging on his neck before the court.
The Yoruba group similarly cautioned Sowore to always use his position as a former Presidential candidate to educate good numbers of people in the country, rather than leading a sponsored  protest that will not contribute to the development of the country at this critical time.
The National President of the DYPR alledged that Sowore  might have been induced with money before embarking on such a needless protest that doesn’t has any effect on the way faward concerning the detection of the IPOB leader.
He advised the people of the country especially the Yoruba race to focus more attention to the development of the country, rather than participating on a protest that doesn’t has positive effect on the development of the country.
Reminding Sowore on the need to allow the court to do the needful on the case , rather than leading a protest on a case that is already before the court of competent jurisdiction.
The Yoruba group however assured the people of the country that Present Bola Tinubu will continue to initiate programmes and projects that will have direct impact on the lives of the people of the country.
