Palpable tension gripped residents of Ondo town, headquarters of Ondo west local government on Saturday night as unknown gunmen shut dead a commercial motorcycle operator in the town.
The incident which occured at Odo-Ayo area of the community, happened at about 8:15pm on the fateful day resulted into tension, as residents including commercial motorcycle operators suddenly off the street.
It was reliably gathered that the yet to be identified gunmen had chattered the late Okada rider to the area and wanted to take his motorcycle away from him.
The source added that the late commercial motorcycle was said to have dragged the motorcycle with the suspected gunmen, during which he was shut at a close range and took away his motorcycle to unknown destination.
The source added that the victim who is a notable commercial motorcycle operator in the community was left alone in his own pool of blood.
As at the time of filling this report, the lifeless body of the late Okada rider still lying down flat in his own pool of blood.
It was further added that the report of the incident has been reported at the Yaba divisional police station in the town, while efforts is been intensified by the police to evacuate the corps to the morgue.
Confirming the incident, a senior police officer at the Yaba divisional police station said the report of the incident was communicated to the station by some residents of the area, while investigation is being intensified to unravel the circumstances that led to the death of the man whose identity is yet to be known.
