Palpable tension has engulfed Elewuro area of Ondo town, the administrative headquarters of Ondo west local government area of Ondo state following the death of a 30-year-old man who was said to have murdered by yet-to- identified person.
Though, the death of the man whose name was identified as “Delo” is still sketchy at the time of filling this report.
It was learnt that until the unfortunate incident, the deceased was said to a bricklayer and father of two in the street, he was said to have last seen in the area on Thursday morning.
It was reliably gathered from the residents of the area that his lifeless body was discovered in his room, the development which ignite fear and confusion, while the whole community was thrown into serious morning.
It was learnt that his remain was first discovered by his younger brother who came to knocked at his door repeatedly when his whereabouts could not known by the family.
His door was said to have knocked severally, before his lifeless body was later discovered through the window.
The younger brother was said to have raised an alarm immediately the body was noticed through the window.
The residents was said to have reported the matter at the Funbi- Fagun divisional police station, Ondo town, the move which prompted the police to mobilized to the scene and later forced the door to be opened.
When the corpse was brought out by the police, several injuries was noticed inflicted on his face and other parts of the body of the deceased.
Further investigation by the police revealed that the younger brother of the late Delo whose telephone was discovered in his possession was immediately arrested and whisked away to the police station.
The remain of the deceased was later deposited at the morgue of the Ondo State Specialist Hospital, Ondo town by the police, while investigation has been commenced by the police to unravel the cause of the death of the deceased.
The tragic news of Delo’s death has become a source of discussion among residents of the area, as residents gathered in groups sharing grief and discussing the disturbing incident.
A source closed to the police confirmed that an investigation is currently on going and that the suspect will soon be transfer to the homicide section at the Ondo State police command for further investigation.
