Members of the All Progressive Congress APC , ward 11, Ondo west local government area of Ondo State has unanimously suspended it’s Chairman, Mr Akinola Adewale Austin.
The part in a suspension letter dated 14th of May 2025, and signed by all the stakeholders of the party including leaders, youths and members, alledged that the Chairman misappropriated funds amounting to N190,000, meant for the families of deceased members of the party.
“He allegedly misappropriated about N190,000 meant for ward executive members, specifically for the families of the late Mrs Tola Omoniyi and the late Adelusi James”
Other allegations levied against the embatled APC ward Chairman are inability to maintain neutrality in his dealings among various aspirants, the move which the party claimed to have undermined the trust and conference in his leadership.
The Chairman was also alledged to have used the name of the party in the ward to negotiate and collect money from some aspirants for different political offices, the development which the party claimed to have also compromised the integrity of the party in ward.
The party later set up a four-man members committee as panel of enquiry to investigate the allegations and to allow the suspended Chairman to come and explain himself on the allegations.
Describing the allegations as sacrilege and compromising the integrity of the of the party, the party explained that two members, Apostle Ilori Sunday and Honourable Femi Adelusi, were later appointed to pilot the affairs of the party pending the outcome of the investigations.
