The Chairman of the transition committee, Irepodun Local Council Development Area (LCDA) Hon Gbenro Akintolayo, has expressed felicitations to the Kabiyesi, Akogbe of Ajue town, Oba Bamidele  Akinwe and other indegenes of the town over the celebration of the annual Odun Oba festival in the town.
The Odun Oba festival which is literary interpreted as “festival of the king” usually celebrated annually by the king to celebrate with his family and other indegenes of the town both at home and in the diaspora.
 The Irepodun LCDA Chairman in a statement he personally signed on Saturday , congratulated the monarch and other sons and daughters of the community over the celebration.
Hon Gbenro who is also the Chairman of the Independent Campaign Team of the All Progressive Congress in Odigbo local government, ahead of the November 16 gubernatorial election in Ondo State,  congratulate the Roya Father and other various classes Chiefs in the community over the celebration.
Describing Odun Oba as a significant festival usually celebrated annually sometime in the month of August, the LCDA Chair said the festival usually marks the beginning of a new year in the traditional calendar of the town.
He noted that the festival, dated back to over 500 years,   is an important avenue for the king to dine and wine with his family members as well as avenue for him to have interface with the royal family members and celebrate with his subjects who have come from far and near to celebrate with him.
According to the statement, the Chairman particularly felicitate with the monarch, the royal family, in the town, the High Chiefs (Eghares),  ijamas,  Olojas, Baales,  Elegbes,  Women Chiefs,  (Opojis)  and other lesser Chiefs in the community, over the celebration which he described as a celebration of culture and traditions in the town.
The Chairman enjoined residents of the town to continue in embracing love, peace, unity and co-existence, equally urged them to cooperate with the present administration in Ondo State and ensure the success of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa during the forthcoming gubernatorial election in the state.
