Members of the Alumni Association, Moba Grammar School (MGS) Otun-Ekiti, has concluded plans to launch a world class Information Communication Technology (ICT) Center.
The ICT centre to be sighted within the school premises in Otun-Ekiti is part of the contributions of the association towards the development of their almar mater.
The National President of the Alumni Association, Elder Samuel Olusegun, made the disclosure on Monday in Ado-Ekiti, during a press conference address by the association as part of the activities heralding the beginning of the celebration of 60th anniversary celebration of the school.
Describing ICT as a very vital tools in the development of education in the country, the MGS Alumni National President said the move by his members to embark on the multi-million naira project is to contribute to the development of the school and compliment the efforts of the Ekiti State Government towards the development of ICT in the area.
Lamenting over what he called the decay of education system in the country, Elder Oluwasegun blamed the trend on the parents and guidance on the development, charged members of the media as well as other spirited individuals to embark on what he called advocacy campaigns, apparently to sensitize members of the public, parents and guidiance on the needs to improve the standard of education in the country.
Speaking further on the week-long celebration, schedule to begin on the 1st of February , 2025, the MGS Alumni National President said the programme will feature activities such as goodwill mesage from the first senior prefect of the school.
Other activities mentioned by him are open forum with members of staff and students of the school, debate and quiz competition among the students of the school, special inter-house school competition and variety night.
The event which he said will be climax with the launching of the N250m ICT centre by the Governor of Ekiti State, Mr Biodun Oyebanji as well as presentation of awards to deserving recipients and members of the Alumni association among others.
