As part of its preparation towards the commencement of the nationwide vaccination against measles, the Ekiti State Primary Health Care Development Agency has organised a one day education stakeholders forum with relevant stakeholders in the state.

The stakeholders forum organised by the agency aimed at educating, creating awareness and sensitising the people on the need to comply and cooperate with the health officials during the conduct of the forthcoming vaccination exercise against meseals, slated to begin on the 5th of October to 11th of October 2024.

The programme was attended by Chairmen and members of the Parents Teachers Association (PTA), National Association of Proprietors and Proprietress of Private Schools (NAPPS) across the 16 local government areas of the state.
Others who attended the one day education stakeholders forum are social mobilizers, education secretaries, officials from the ministry of education and the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) as well as several education stakeholders across the 16 local government in the state.
Speaking during the stakeholders forum, the State Health Educator, Mrs Olajumoke Oguntoyinbo, said the programme organised by the SPHCDA is targeted towards creating more awareness among members of the public.
She admonished the parents and teachers of various schools both private and secondary to mobilise eligible children between the age of 9 months to 59 months for the nationwide exercise.
The Ekiti State Health Educator disclosed that the agency has determined to cover 95 percent of its coverage areas, he solicited the supports of the stakeholders towards the success of the exercise and avoid non-compliance and rejection of health workers during the exercise.
