A member of the Federal House of Representative, representing Ondo East/West Federal Constituency, Honourable Abiola Makinde, on Saturday described former President of the Institute of Chartered Accountant of Nigeria (ICAN) High Chief Semeon Oguntimehin as  a living legend and an Icon whose impact in transforming his hometown will remain indelible for ever.
The ranking lawmaker spoke in Ondo town on Saturday during the 90th birthday celebration and 10 years installation anniversary of High Chief Simeon Olusola Oguntimehin as the Lisa of Ondo kingdom.
Makinde, while playing a glowing tribute to the former ICAN President, described him as a philanthropist per excellent whose have played an active parts in the development of his hometown and the country at large.
The lawmaker while congratulating the revered Ondo High Chief over the twin celebration, equally described him as a community leader per excellent who have served the country and initiated several developments to his hometown.
Speaking on the current hardship in the country, the lawmaker attributed it to the removal of the fuel subsidy by the Federal Government, saying that the move was aimed at making lives to be more bearable for the people of the country.
He explained that President Bola Tinubu have several plans and policies to make standard of living to be more attractive for the people of the country, bit urged them to be more patient with the government, noted that  it was also the intention of Federal  Government to enhance the working conditions of the Nigeria workers.
He urged the people of the country to be patient with President Tinubu, promising that several policies made by the Federal Government were aimed towards making lives more bearable for the people.
According to him, “the government has the intention to collaborate with several  international organizations to ensure the youths in the country  received the necessary support, skills development and financial empowerment that would make them contribute more significantly to the nation’s economy.
The lawmaker explained further that this era of economic transformation, where innovation and technology are shaping new ways of doing business, traders are encouraged to embrace these changes.
While promising the supports of his office in collaboration with a Non-governmental Organization, Dr Rhoda Makinde (DROMI) to supports the youths in his constituency and further extend it to the Ondo Central Senatorial District to empower the youths for better livelihood.
