Lunatic causes stir in Ondo, regains consciousness after 15 years 

A 35-year-old man , suffering from mental illness recently causes a stir in Ondo town, following his sudden recovery after several years of insanity, which some residents of the community put at fifteen (15).

The  incident which occurred at Ayeyemi street in the town, was said to have taken the people of the community surprise, happened during a programme organized by a new generation  church in the town.

The incident led to influx of residents to the church who thronged in their large numbers apparently to see how the “miracle” was reported to have happened and to catch a glimpse of the man.

It was reliably gathered that the popular lunatic who before his recovery bears the appellation “Da Green” and normally cover himself with several dresses and pile up mountain of refuse at a spot around Odosida and Odojomu  Streets in Ondo town, had left the area for Ayeyemi street also in the community on the fateful day in search of food.

A clergy man who was invited to a church  programme was said to have passed through the street and sighted the lunatic where he was standing, he was said to have asked the workers in the church to go and bring the lunatic, saying God has spoken to him to heal him.

It was further learnt that few minutes later the lunatic was brought to the venue of the programme,  whille the Prophet later prayed for him and was said to have fell in coma during which he rolled himself on the floor of the church for some minutes and later regained his consciousness.

He was said to have collected  the microphone from the man of God, during which he identified  his name as Wale, he was later broke into serious tear.

The cleric also ordered the workers in the church to lead him to a room within the premises of the church where his long hair was cut by some pastors in the church, who later provided water for him to wash his body, he was also given dresses to replace the rag he was wearing.

Large crowd of people mainly Okada riders were noticed within the premises of the church struggling to catch a glimpse of the popular lunatic as he raise his hands to praise God.

Speaking in an interview shortly after he regained consciousness, Wale who weep furiously, said  he could not identify his father’s house at the moment and described his recovery as miraculous.

He explained that although he could not recollect the exact time when the problem started, however appreciated God for giving him the opportunity to regain his consciousness,  promised to use the rest of his life to praise God.

The Prophet who  described the recovery of Wale as an act of God, explained that he received the revelation to heal the lunatic from God while he was praying few days ago in preparation for the week-long programme.

As at the time of filling this report, Wale is still in the custody of the church where he was waiting for his relatives, he was later taken to one of the inner room in the church where  the workers  had hectic time controlling a mammoth crowd who have come to catch the glimpse of the former lunatic.
