Omimode Divisional Police Station Ondo town, headquarters of Ondo West local government area of Ondo State was on Friday sacked by flood as a result of heavy downpour in the community.
As a result of the heavy downpour, the flood equally swept away two tricycles where it was packed by the owners.
According to the residents of the town, the rain which started at about 4:pm in the town lasted for about three hours as the whole roads flooded by water as well as the packing lot section of the divisional police station ravaged by the flooding.
Similarly, the popular Yaba street was also flooded, the development which resulted into heavy traffic as commercial and private vehicles were seen parking on both sides of the road.
Officers of the division and visitors had their vehicles parked on both sides of the dual carriage way in the popular Yaba road.
It was also learnt that the flood also partially affected a particular commercial bank opposite the police station where properly estimated about several millions of naira were destroyed.
The Yaba divisional police station had become prone to flooding because of its location as a residual spot for flood closed to the Mode river in the town.
Due to the heavy downpour, flood also wrecked havoc in some parts of the community such as Oke-Odunwo, Ife-garage and Lisaluwa as well as Awoyaya axis of the town among other areas.
