It was a mello-drama on Sunday 13th of April, 2025, as Oba  Nelson Akingbadega Akintolayo wept uncontrollably during a thanksgiving ceremony organized  to mark the celebration of his 65th birthday.
The programme held at Saint John’s Anglican Church, Igburowo, Odigbo local government area of Ondo State was organized by a special committee in the community.
The monarch who was invited to the alter of the expansive church hall amidst dancing, he was accompanied by his wives, family members and other notable indegenes of the town.
Drama ensued when the monarch was later handed over the microphone  to speak after a special dancing step, the traditional ruler who broke into tears and wept uncontrollably for some minutes.
Shortly  after this mello drama that lasted for some minutes, the monarch said he wept simply because the day of his birthday was also the day of the death of his late mother,  Mrs Rebecca Akintolayo who passed on few years ago.
The monarch later thanked God for the celebration and thanksgiving, called on the indegenes of the town, to continue in joining hands with him in developing the community.
The highly elated monarch used the ocassion of the  thanksgiving to thank God for his life in the last 65 years,  appreciate members of his subjects for their supports and efforts in developing the ancient community.
He explained that since he assumed the position of monarch in the town, several developments which he could not mentioned has been witnessed in the town.
Oba Akintolayo  thanks all indegenes of the town as well as other residents for their supports and prayers, the development which according to him has enabled him to achieve several achievements.
In his admonishion, the Cleric in charge of the church, Revd. Adekunle Jacob Oluwatosin, congratulate the monarch over the birthday thanksgiving.
The Man of God  equally rejoiced with him and other indegenes of the town over what  he described as various developmental strides that has been witnessed in the town in recent time.
He described the monarch as a peace-loving and community leader per excellent, quoted several books from the Holy Bible, later prayed for more peace and harmony in the town.
The brief ceremony attended by several indegenes of the town, youths, as well as family of the royal father, featured songs rendition, thanksgiving as well as worship prayers.
