The Otun Olubadan of Ibadan who is also a former governor in Oyo State, Governor Rashidi Ladoja has been elevated to the position of an Oba by the Olubadan of Ibadan land , Oba Owolabi Ige Olakulehin 1
The coronation ceremony held at the new Olubadan palace, Oke Aremo, Ibadan, capital of Oyo State was attended by the governor of the state, represented by the acting Governor of the State, Barrister Bayo Lawal .
Presenting the staff of office to the new beaded crown Oba , Barr Lawal said Ibadan people knew how to resolve their differences without the intervention of any third party
He said the government wants a well established monarchy which will serve as a model for the entire yoruba race.
In his response, the newly elevated Oba who was particularly elated said it is the wish of the people of Ibadan that he becomes an Oba
He also thanked governor Seyi Makinde for the honour bestowed on him as an Oba
The new Oba is now to be addressed as Oba of Oju Opo.
