The lawmaker representing Ondo East/West Federal Constituency, Hon. Dr. Abiola Makinde, has congratulated the Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, on his recent resounding victory at the Election Petition Tribunal.
Makinde who was the Director General, Aiyedatiwa/Adelani Campaign Organization during the 2024 Ondo governorship election, described the ruling as a significant win for democracy, justice, and the people of the state.
Makinde in a statement by his Special Adiviser on media and Publicity, Alli Mashood, described the judgement as a boost for democracy and good governance.
The tribunal, sitting in Akure, had dismissed the petition filed by Hon. Agboola Ajayi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), upholding Aiyedatiwa’s mandate as the duly elected Governor of Ondo State.
Reacting to the judgment, Hon. Makinde, said the verdict not only validates the will of the people but also strengthens the foundation of democratic governance in the state.
“This judgment is more than a personal victory for Governor Aiyedatiwa; it is a resounding affirmation of the people’s trust and a clear endorsement of the Governor’s people-oriented leadership,” Makinde stated.
He commended the Governor for his calm, steady, and focused leadership despite post-election distractions and urged him to take this victory as a renewed call to deepen the administration’s development efforts across all zones of the state.
Makinde emphasized the importance of unity among progressive leaders to ensure sustainable development and inclusive growth in Ondo State.
“Governor Aiyedatiwa has shown exemplary conduct and vision. This legal victory should energize all of us who believe in purposeful governance to do more for our people,” he added.
