My attention was drawn to the circular issued after an emergency meeting was held by the Ondo West local government party chairman Hon Aro Bernard interestingly without his key officers like the secretary of the party, Woman leader, Youth Leader among other local government executive who were not at the meeting
It is also unfortunate that the chairman did not acquaint himself with the constitutional provisions of the party from preamble to the first statement in the aims and objectives of the party, Article 9 section B2 were explicit in the unity and togetherness of all members of the club
If truly the chairman of the party in Ondo West was aware of the circular issued last night, then we need to query his qualifications to lead the local government as well as his knowledge regarding the law of the party as amended in 2022.
Part of the questions was the number of executive that should form a quorum before a meeting can begin.
What qualifies him to issue “vote of confidence” on wards with questionable characters that can bring disrepute to the party
Perhaps, Hon Aro Bernard is not aware or come across Article 25, section F subsection (iv) of the party’s constitution, that, if the chairman of the ward is not available in the meeting “Anyone can be selected as chairman and carry out all activities as long as the Congress consented to any motion moved by the chairman
Having said this, it is glaring that the Local Government Party Chairman is also unfit to occupy the seat and I am now convinced beyond a reasonable doubt that the local government party chairman in Ondo West is not only aware but also the mastermind of the ill perceived endorsement by some selected ward chairmen of the party last week
It is now necessary to call on the Congress in Ondo West to ask questions from Mr Aro Bernard why he’s using his exalted office to pull the local government down or put the name in disrepute
Rather I will advise the local government party chairman to take time to study the constitutional provisions of the party and begin to apply it, only if Ondo people will entertain the insult meted and ignorance he exhibited of recent on his statement
Meanwhile other eight affected wards chairmen is likely to be subjected to what the Ward 11 chairman Mr Akinola Adewale Austin experienced last week
He’s still in remorse mood until the chairman of the party in the local government renew his hope in futility
