As part of the move towards actualizing the ongoing land management reform in Ekiti State, the government has procured Land Administration Software, including mapping and land survey equipment worth several millions of naira.

 

The newly procured equipment which were supplied to the office of Surveyor General, Ekiti State includes five units of Trimble Alloy,
five units of Trimble choke ring antenna, five units of trimble lightening arrestor for Alloy Gnss; five units of radome/choke ring antenna, four unit of starlink standard satellite internet receiver.

 

Others are five unit of Intelligent solar energy alert security camera, four units solar solution power system, batteries and inverters, five units of Alphageo matrix 11 rover Gnss receiver with its accessories among others.

 

Receiving the equipment in Ado Ekiti, the Special Adviser to the Governor Oyebanji on Lands, Survey, Professor James Olaleye said the equipment would be used to upgrade Land Administration Capabilities of Ekiti State by producing the Cadastre of land uses through mapping and survey of the land across the state.

 

The Special Adviser explained that the project that will produce visual renditions of all lands and which will aid land administration in the state.

 

According to him, the present administration in the state under the leadership of Governor Biodun Oyebanji is determined to reform all aspects of land management in the state in order to promote ease of doing business.

 

He described the newly purchased equipment as the best that will facilitate the rapid production of the needed land information and the digital Cadastre of Ekiti State to improve land search, simplify allocation process as well resolve all land acquisition problems by making use of modern methods of land title management.

 

Emphasizing the critical role of visual mapping, Professor Olaleye stated that it will further enhance land accessibility and serves as a foundation for driving social, economic, and infrastructural developments by enabling more precise planning, resource optimization, and sustainable growth strategies.

 

He disclosed further that aside these equipment already procured, this project requires that specialized aircraft for Aerial Mapping and Light Detection and Ranging (LIDAR) capture
Aerial survey of all parts of the State in order to ensure that all lands in Ekiti are surveyed and captured for mapping to the level of pin-point accuracy in line with global best practices.


He therefore solicited the support of the people for the present administration noted that the government is working round the clock to make land management work for the overall benefits of Ekiti State.
