Ile-Oluji town, headquarters of Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo local government area of Ondo State has commissioned a community Radio Station in the town.
The radio station named “Ẹbọ 102.1fm situated at the Fesojaye avenue in the heart of the ancient community was commissioned by the Governor of Ondo State, Mr Lucky Aiyedatiwa, aimed at enhancing media coverage and promote community development in the town.
The Governor , represented by the Director-General and Chief Executive Officer, Ondo State Radiovision Corporation (OSRC) Mr. Kenneth Odusola-Stephenson.
The event, held at the Fesojaye Avenue in Ile-Oluji, was also attended by community leaders, religious leaders, politician, notable indegenes of the town and several media personalities among others
.
According to the Governor the radio station is expected to provide a platform for local and state news, entertainment and educational programmes, bridging the information gap and promoting community engagements.
The Governor praised the efforts of the people of the town and the radio station’s management as well as staff of the radio statio.
He emphasized the importance of community radio in promoting local development in any community and settlements, he urged them to work assiduously in making the purpose in who the station was created is achieve.
He also reiterated the determination of his administration’s commitment towards supporting initiatives that enhance the livelihoods of Ondo State residents.
As the radio station begins its test run operations, it is expected to play a vital role in promoting community development, social cohesion, and economic growth in the ancient community and it’s environment.
