A renowned political group based in Ondo State, the HAM Volunteers Group has insisted that the current member representing Ondo East/West Federal Constituency at the lower legislative house, Hon. Dr Abiola Makinde must represent Ondo Central Senatorial District at the red chamber come 2027.
The group equally give reasons
why it is pertinent and of importance for the ranking lawmaker who also holds the traditional title of Atunluuse I of Ondo kingdom to contest and win the Ondo central senatorial district come 2027.
The group in a statement by its Publicity Secretary Mr Adetula Ayorinde said “to set the record straight, one will recour that in the building up to the 2023 Presidential/National Assembly election, HAM Volunteers Group was the major force/movement canvassing people throughout the nooks and crannies of the 12 political wards of Ondo West including Ondo East in ensuring victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the incumbent Senator, Senator Adeniyi Adegbonmire SAN.
“We supported Senator Adeniyi Adegbonmire on the instruction of our leader, Honourable Abiola Makinde and in order to bring good representation to the central, but reverse has now been the case.
“It is a public knowledge that Honourable Dr Abiola Makinde is an outstanding performer in the league of colleagues from Ondo State in the green chamber.
‘In view of the reasons ranging from;
1. Complaints from different quarters in Ondo Central of Senator Adeniyi Adegbonmire’s none-performance in his representation;
2. Neglect of certain quarters/towns despite his influential position as chairman committee of juicy and revered department in the Senate, to;
3. Eagerness of the people/residents of Ondo Central Senatorial District to benefit from the excellent performance/representation of Honourable Dr Abiola Makinde who is known for his populist ideology, and who has implemented various community development projects.
“The people of Akure South, Akure North, Ondo East, Ondo West, and Idanre/Ifedore have expressed unanimous support for Makinde’s senatorial move. All we want in the central is a good representation which is part of Makinde’s focus/project. WEALTH creation which is already successful in Ondo East and West, is expected to be extended to Ondo Central Senatorial District if elected, as ordained by God.
“The HAM Volunteers group is therefore set to embark on issue based campaign in support of honourable Abiola Makinde’s Senatorial move.
